WIDGETS
Widgets (or gadgets, badges, modules, capsules, snippets, minis or flakes) are pieces of html code added to webpages or blogs to add dynamic content. They often take the form of on-screen tools (clocks, event countdowns, flight arrival information, daily weather etc). Or they could be devices used for entertainment, (sudoko, radio, news, etc).
With widgets, users are able to customize or personalize their pages to get specific services for themselves or provide their clients with services.
For this week's challenge:
1. Find a widget of your choice and add it to your blog. Any one will do - wild, wacky, whatever. Use your Blogger gadgets or try finding a widget at Your Minis.
2. Think of a way widgets could be used on a library blog or website and write a post on your blog with your thoughts.
WINDING UP
You will now have a much better understanding of Web 2.0 and its potential uses in the library. You are encouraged to suggest and discuss ideas that will help us improve our services to library users.
